An elderly couple was walking in a parking lot in DelRay Beach, Florida when struck by a motor vehicle resulting in serious pelvic and leg injuries. The case was prosecuted by our New York office in conjunction with local Florida counsel. The case settled for 1.9 Million Dollars.
Family of young Brooklyn Woman Awarded $6 Million Dollars
A 34 year old Brooklyn wife and mother of two (2) children was admitted to a hospital for gallbladder surgery. The physicians failed to diagnose underlying liver disease, which is a contraindication to general anesthesia. Consequently, the patient developed Hepatic Encephalopathy and died. After a three (3) week Trial, a Brooklyn Jury returned a 6 Million Dollar verdict in favor of her husband and children.
Negligent Gall Bladder Surgery Settles for $645K
A 33 year old Queens woman was admitted for surgery to remove her gallbladder. During the procedure the surgeon inadvertently severed the patient’s common bile duct. The injury was not diagnosed until several days later and a second surgery was performed to repair the damaged bile due. Following the surgeon’s Deposition, the case was settled for $645,000.00.
Middle Aged Truck Driver Awarded $3.5 Million By a Queens Jury
A middle-aged truck driver while making a delivery in New York City was pinned between an oncoming vehicle and the rear end of his delivery truck. He sustained severe leg injuries which required multiple orthopedic surgeries. A Queens County Jury returned a verdict of $3.5 million dollars.
37-Year-Old Woman Receives $1.66 Million for Hand Injury
A 37-year-old woman was employed by an Orange County, New York company which manufactured paper bags. She operated a machine which produced thousands of bags a day; but it was prone to jamming. The manufacturer did not properly place safety devices and appropriate warnings on the machine and there was evidence of tampering with interlocks. The plaintiff sustained degloving and crush injuries to her non-dominant hand. Due to jurisdictional issues, this matter it was litigated outside New York State and settled before a Federal Mediator for $1.66 million dollars.

76 Year Old Male Complains About Headaches
A 76-year-old gentleman presented to the emergency room of a local medical center complaining of headaches and mental status changes. A CT scan was ordered and read by an off-site radiologist. The radiologist recommended further evaluation to rule a CVA. The attending er physician did not receive the report and medicated the patient with Lovenox, an anticoagulant which exacerbated intracranial bleeding causing irreversible brain injury and the patient’s untimely demise. The case resolved in a claim for $650,000.00
72 Year Old Gentleman Dies Due to Malpractice
A 72 yr old gentleman underwent a lumbar puncture to rule out spinal meningitis. The doctors, however, did not properly adjust the patient’s anticoagulants and therefore the patient developed post-operative bleeding which precipitated a stroke and ultimately his wrongful death. The case was resolved on the eve of Trial for $1.2 million dollars.
