A 33 year old Queens woman was admitted for surgery to remove her gallbladder. During the procedure the surgeon inadvertently severed the patient’s common bile duct. The injury was not diagnosed until several days later and a second surgery was performed to repair the damaged bile due. Following the surgeon’s Deposition, the case was settled for $645,000.00.
