A 34 year old Brooklyn wife and mother of two (2) children was admitted to a hospital for gallbladder surgery. The physicians failed to diagnose underlying liver disease, which is a contraindication to general anesthesia. Consequently, the patient developed Hepatic Encephalopathy and died. After a three (3) week Trial, a Brooklyn Jury returned a 6 Million Dollar verdict in favor of her husband and children.
